Your Bible notes, gathered.
Not a Bible app. Not a general notes app. Ingathery is the place where every note you take about the Bible - typed or handwritten anywhere - gets gathered, linked to Scripture, and kept somewhere you'll actually find it again.
Not a Bible-reading app
Keep reading your Bible however you already do; paper, or the app you love. Ingathery sits alongside it, for the notes you take as you go.
Not a generic notes app
Your notes link to Scripture; so you can browse by book, follow a thread between related notes, explore by topic, or look a word up. A notes app on your phone can't do any of that.
However you take notes, Ingathery gathers them
Type it, photograph it, or drop in a PDF. It all ends up in the same place, linked to the same Scripture.
Typed
A simple, familiar rich-text editor with an editing toolbar (or markdown if you prefer it).
Photographed
Snap a photo of a handwritten page from paper or a notebook - and Ingathery cleans it up for you. Easily add and view multiple images in each note
Bring in notes from any app on your tablet/iPad or E Ink notebook by exporting them as PDFs. All images and PDFs can have text alongside them in the same note.

Every reference, ready to open
Mention a verse in a note and Ingathery recognises it automatically, no manual tagging. Tap it, and the passage opens right there: the text, your own notes on it, related cross-references, and more.
It's a nice convenience, that enhances your notes.

Nothing you write gets lost
A handwritten note in a drawer, or a typed note buried in an old app, tends to stay buried. In Ingathery, every note is linked to Scripture and to the notes around it, so it resurfaces exactly when it's relevant again.
- Build threads that connect related notes, with your own commentary in between
- Explore by topic with a built-in concordance. Classic passages plus everything you've written on them
- Look a word up in the dictionary without leaving your note
- Browse everything by book and chapter, to see where you've studied and where you haven't

Old notes, brought back at the right time
Ingathery resurfaces notes worth revisiting. Something you wrote a while ago, or a note from this time last year. So what you've learned keeps working on you, instead of sitting untouched.
Built to sit next to your Bible
Ingathery isn't trying to replace your Bible reading. It's there for the notes that come out of it, wherever that study happens.
Personal study
Open your Bible, jot what you're seeing as you go.
Small group
Capture the discussion, not just the outline.
Sermons
Note the church, the preacher, and what stuck.
Why the Berean Standard Bible?
Ingathery includes the Berean Standard Bible — a modern translation that sits in a careful balance between very literal versions and more thought-for-thought ones, close in feel to how the NIV reads. It's freely available, which means Ingathery can offer full reference lookup, concordance, and dictionary tools around it without restriction.
Share what you've gathered
Send a note to someone else with a one-off share code. They can keep their own copy, no account wrangling required. Sharing to a whole small group or church is on our roadmap.
Why I built this
I built Ingathery because my own Bible notes were everywhere. A paper notebook here, a stray note-taking app there, sermon notes I could never find again when a related passage came up months later. None of it was gathered anywhere or ever revisited.
Ingathery is what I wished existed: one place for all of it, connected to the Bible itself, so what I've learned keeps being useful rather than getting buried. My hope is that it helps you know God's word, and Him, a little better too.
